Why should you make Pineapple Cucumber Juice?

    1. Detoxification: This juice combines ingredients known for their detoxifying properties. Pineapple contains bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion and helps cleanse the body. Cucumber is hydrating and helps flush out toxins from the body. Ginger can reduce inflammation and support liver function, which is essential for detoxification.
    2. Hydration: Both pineapple and cucumber have high water content, making this juice a great way to stay hydrated, especially during hot summer days or after physical activity.
    3. Nutrient-rich: Pineapple is a good source of vitamin C, manganese, and bromelain. Cucumber is rich in vitamins K and C, as well as minerals like potassium. Ginger contains antioxidants and has been used for centuries for its health benefits.
    4. Digestive health: The combination of pineapple, cucumber, and ginger can support healthy digestion.
    5. Refreshing and flavorful: The natural sweetness of pineapple combined with the mild taste of cucumber and the warmth of ginger creates a refreshing and flavorful juice that can be enjoyed on its own or as a base for other smoothie combinations.
    6. Easy to make with a blender or food processor with only 4 ingredients.

    Ingredients

    • Fresh Pineapple chunks or frozen pineapple
    • English Cucumbers
    • Fresh ginger
    • Fresh lime juice
    • Salt
    • Cold water
    • Ice cubes (optional)
These are the ingredients required for making the Pineapple, Cucumber, Ginger Detox juice

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 - Prepping the ingredients

After thoroughly washing, peel the cucumber and cut it into slices or cubes, depending on your preference. Peel and finely grate the ginger, using a micro-plane grater. Cut the pineapple into chunks (or use frozen pineapple).

Step 2 - Blending the ingredients

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender or food processor and blend until smoothie-like consistency. If the mixture seems too thick, gradually add cold water while blending until you reach your desired consistency.

Step 3 - Adding freshly squeezed lime juice

Once blended, add the fresh lime juice to the mixture and blend for a few more seconds to incorporate the flavors.

Step 4 - Straining the juice

Strain the pineapple cucumber juice through a fine mesh strainer or a nut milk bag or cheesecloth. Alternatively, you can skip this step if you are using a juicer.

    Step 5 - Serve

    Serve with garnish immediately.

    Expert Tips and Substitutions

    • This pineapple cucumber juice can also be added as a base for smoothie recipes.
    • Fresh Pineapple can be substituted for frozen.
    • You could substitute Persian cucumbers for English cucumbers.
    • You could omit the ginger or alter the amount to suit your preference.
    • You could also substitute lemon juice, orange juice, or juice from any of the citrus fruits in place of lime juice.
    • Once in a while, I also add herbs like fresh mint to this pineapple and cucumber juice. Mint leaves infuse a refreshing flavor to the green juice.
    • If you have coconut water in stock at home, I would also add that in place of plain cold water. Coconut water contains electrolytes and also helps in hydration.

    Storage instructions

You can store the Pineapple Cucumber Ginger Detox Juice, but it is best to enjoy the fresh juice to reap its full nutritional benefits and maintain its flavor. If you find yourself with some leftover juice or want to make it ahead of time, here are some storage instructions: transfer the juice into an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Remember to give the pineapple cucumber juice a good shake before serving.
